For 2025, Marc Jacobs is inspired by the classic beauty – red lips, defined beauty brands and rosy cheeks. The catch? In Jacobs’ world, no lipstick, pencil or bl? Instead, the masonry artist Pat McGrath played with velvety fabric cuts to achieve a dimensional make -up look.
“The collection is really a piece about dimension in shape and shape,” said McGrath behind the stage. “We play with two -dimensional faces on everyone. It is a daring abstraction of the make -up. “Near the Make -up stations there were small paper plates with a touch of different red shades; From a distance they looked like a plate with red velvet cakes. In fact, every record had applications for the faces of the models. In the cheeks, the red applications were a replacement for blushing, small black circles mirrored beauty brands, while the kisses on the lips of the models were in special red tones that ranged from Scarlet to Burgundy.
“You are my favorite red from Pat McGrath Labs and Marc’s collection,” said McGrath, how they were selected. Some were decorated with crystals, others were mere fabric. The same went for the beauty brands; Some were simply black while others glittered like volcanic las.
Among the abstract patches, McGrath kept the real make -up minimal and concentrated on the skin. “The skin is bright, really just,” she said. McGrath only used Rose 001 the essence and the sublime Perfection Foundation and Concealer. Otherwise, she opted for slightly cultivated eyebrows and a small piece of shading on her eyes.
The two-dimensional make-up should serve as a film for Jacobs three-dimensional sculptural collection. The hair of hairdresser Duffywas inspired by the volume in large parts of the clothing. Stylists teased tight waves to create fluffy, returning updos.
McGraths fabric cuts remember paper dolls. According to McGrath’s porcelain dolls in the Maison Margiela Couture Spring 2024 show, it is a natural next step for the mask artist. Doll -like beauty was also an issue in the youngest shows by Jacobs. Last year Diane Kendal also converted the models into duen -like figures with spindle eyelashes and white dirt. This year it was McGraths to play – and the results are mod, abstract and a doll collector.
